Thank you to all the children, parents, coaches, and volunteers who made Sheriff Jim O’Sullivan’s 11th Annual Youth Football Camp a success! More than 150 children learned football skills inside the lines and life skills outside the lines from football coaches and players from our local middle and high schools, led by Coach Cadillac Harris and Coach Chris Scott. NFL player Tavante Beckett (Detroit Lions) and ODU Monarchs Head Coach Ricky Rahne spoke to the children about the importance of determination and teamwork. The children ran defensive and offensive drills, completed teambuilding exercises, and learned football techniques from local experts. The free two-day camp wrapped up this afternoon at Oscar Smith High School with a championship game, awards for the top-performing players, and a cookout. On behalf of Sheriff O’Sullivan, Indian River Coach Brandon Carr made a special presentation in memory of late camper and longtime camp volunteer Jaquan Yulee.
