On January 26, 2017, The Elizabeth River Project recognized the Chesapeake Sheriff’s Office for our South Norfolk crew’s work cleaning up the Elizabeth River. Captain G. Strathmann and Deputy D. Gill accepted the prestigious Elizabeth River Project Sustained Distinguished Performance Award on behalf of Sheriff Jim O’Sullivan.This is the third time, the Elizabeth River Project recognized the Chesapeake Sheriff’s Office.
