The Chesapeake Correctional Center is now fully-accredited with our fourth Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission (VLEPSC) accreditation, our first American Correctional Association (ACA) accreditation, and our Virginia Department of Corrections (VDOC) accreditation!
The ACA is a private, nonprofit organization that administers the only national accreditation program for all adult and juvenile corrections components. The years-long process included an extensive audit of our facility, policies, and records. The accreditation must be re-certified every three years.
The VLEPSC Commission is tasked with establishing and evaluating professional law enforcement standards to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Virginia law enforcement agencies, establish appropriate levels of training for law enforcement personnel, promote public confidence in law enforcement, and promote the professionalism of Virginia law enforcement agencies. This certification must be re-certified every four years.
